Privacy

If you require any more information or have any questions about our privacy policy, please feel free to contact us by e-mail. Your privacy is extremely important. This privacy policy document describes in detail the types of personal information collected and recorded by us and how we use it.

Personal Information

At times, personal information, such as your name and e-mail, is collected in exchange for our content and/or products. We will never force you to give us this information; such activity is strictly voluntary.

Analytics

This website tracks visitors for the purpose of analysing user data and metrics. This is done through cookies and pixels, as well as other means.

Cookies, Log Files and Web Beacons

Like many other websites, we make use of log files. These files merely log visitors to the site – usually a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’s analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyse trends, administer the website, track user’s movement around the site and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

We also use cookies to store information about visitors’ preferences, to record user-specific information on which pages the site visitor accesses or visits, and to personalise or customise our website content based upon visitors’ browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser. For example, some articles or free downloads may be recommended to you based on what you have read on our website in the past or your country of residence will be used to calculate tax and shipping on your shopping basket.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices. Living in Brussels’ privacy policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of such other advertisers or websites.

If you wish to disable cookies, you may do so through your individual browser options. More detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers can be found at the browsers’ respective websites.

Who we share your data with

Your data is not actively shared with any external companies or persons. It may be shared with the third parties mentioned above.

Where your data is stored.

Any data (such as name and e-mail) you provide voluntarily, is stored in your user profile on our WordPress dashboard and in our ConvertKit account. You can request a log of all data we have available for you and request an edit of your personal information at any given time by sending an e-mail to hello@livinginbrussels.eu.

You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
