Eco and low waste shops in Brussels

by

Are you searching for eco and zero (or low) waste shops in Brussels? Look no further! Brussels has a lot to offer. Also to the (future) eco warriors among us. In this article you’ll find several shops and ‘places to be’ where you can purchase many durable goods.

Super Green Me – Arteveldestraat 10, 1000 Brussels

The name says is all, doesn’t it? Super Green Me is an eco-friendly store in the heart of Brussels where you can purchase a variety of eco products and brands. It’s like heaven to your sustainable lifestyle. Are you still adapting to the eco way of living? Alexia and Valérie will be more than happy to help you find the products you need. Here’s what you can find in the store:

  • Children and adult clothing
  • Cosmetics
  • Hygiene products
  • Underwear
  • Accessories
  • And much more!

Curious? Go have a look at their webshop

Orbany – Sint-Goriksplein 18, 1000 Brussel

Next up is Orbany. A boutique located in the city centre of Brussels, right across the Sint-Gorikshallen! They have a wide range of zero waste products and eco-friendly cosmetics. But that’s not all. They organize creative workshops where you can learn to sew, knit, draw, embroider, make candles, learn about natural cosmetics and cleaning products etc. A gift card for one of these workshops is the ideal low waste present. Go and have a look

Färm – Brandhoutkaai 43, 1000 Brussel

Färm is a 100% bio market that offers a wide range of food products delivered by small ethical companies, which are mostly located in Belgium. Färm was founded in 2013 by several entrepreneurs and investors as a project to support these small (family) businesses by selling their products for a correct price. The products they sell are either natural, eco-friendly, bio or ethically made.

Apart from food products, you can also join activities in store or experiment with the numerous recipes and DIY projects that you can find on their website!

Yuman – Charleroise Steenweg 123, 1060 Brussel

And last, but not least. Yuman. The difference between Yuman and the other stores in this list, is that Yuman is not only a store. It’s the very first circular shopping ‘village’ in Brussels. In this building of 1200 square meters big, you’ll find every durable product you need.  Clothing, accessories, linen, decoration, cosmetics, furniture, rental services for objects and clothing, second hand books, zero waste products… Yuman’s philosophy is to be a one-stop shopping centre for those who want to shop sustainably in one place.  No need to travel from one eco-friendly shop to another. You can find all you need under one roof. Go check it out!

Can’t get enough and want to know more?

No problem! Mixua, an online and real life eco-guide, offers eco-tours in Brussels. You can choose to join a public tour (great to get to know people) or you can book a private tour for groups or teambuildings. A tour takes about 2.5 hours, costs 32 euros and includes the following:

  • Eco workshop with drinks and a snack
  • Eco tour with a personal guide
  • Discovery of 5 – 6 eco addresses
  • Meeting the passionate changemakers and entrepreneurs behind Mixua
  • A map with additional eco-addresses
  • A surprise gift!

Have a lot of fun discovering the sustainable life in Brussels!
